Take the Gunbower Island Footbridge, and meander your way around the creek either by foot or on a bike.
The footbridge is located right beside the retreat for easy access to and from the Gunbower Island by foot or bike.
Bring your Kayak or Canoe and explore the Gunbower Creek & Murray River by water. Lots of easy access points around the Retreat.
Barham Adventure Hire is a family owned business who loves being local & loves to see everyone have fun while exploring what we have around Barham/Koondrook. Whether it is cruising the streets grabbing a coffee & lunch or out on the Murray River or Gunbower Island in the great outdoors, hiring with us will be an experience to remember! They have options for everyone! Bikes, E-Bikes, Scooters, Kayaks, SUPs and even Lifejackets.

Fish from the bank right out the front of your Retreat Tent. Or launch your boat at the Koondrook Boat Ramp, located right beside the Koondrook Retreat.
Sit & relax on your private deck while watching the birdlife around you. We have resident Kookaburra’s, Parrots & Owls that love to put on displays for our guests.
Wander out onto the Gunbower Island via the Footbridge and watch all the birdlife in their natural environment.
The Koondrook outdoor pool has a 33-metre pool, medium child’s pool and a toddler splash pool. The area is complimented with a lawn space and BBQ and has onsite canteen facilities. Koondrook Swimming Pool is managed by the Koondrook Swimming Pool Committee.

Take a leisurely stroll down the Redgum Statue walk as it meanders along the banks of the Murray River through the towns of Koondrook and Barham.
Admire the exceptional craftsmanship of the gorgeous statues which depict the pioneer men and women of the district along with the iconic wildlife of the area. These works of art were carved out of local red gum by world renowned chainsaw carvers Kevin Guilders and Angela Polglaze.
